Heute reden wir über ein Konzept, das ich nicht oft genug betonen kann: Entspanne dich beim Deutschlernen! Habe Spaß!Today, we are talking about a concept that I can not emphasize often enough: Relax when learning German! Have fun!

Es macht das Sprachenlernen nicht nur angenehmer, sondern auch effizienter. Natürlich möchtest du nicht Langeweile haben. Natürlich möchtest du keine frustrierenden Aufgaben erledigen.It not only makes language learning more enjoyable but also more efficient. Of course you do not want to be bored. Of course you do not want to do any frustrating tasks.

Manchmal muss man ein bisschen Frustration aushalten. Wenn du Mathematik studierst oder Biologie oder Physik oder Geschichte oder Soziologie – dann musst du auch mal die Zähne zusammenbeißen, d.h. du musst auch mal ein bisschen Druck aushalten.Sometimes you have to endure a bit of frustration. Sprachwissenschaftler haben untersucht, wie die innere Einstellung den Erwerb der Sprache beeinflusst. Prof. Stephen Krashen nennt es die Hypothese vom affektiven Filter, vom emotionalen Filter (Affective Filter hypothesis).Linguists have investigated how the inner attitude affects the acquisition of a language. Prof. Stephen Krashen calls it the Affective Filter hypothesis

Er hat herausgefunden, dass die innere Einstellung den Erwerb der Sprache wesentlich beeinflusst. Eine negative Einstellung ist wie ein Filter. Dieser Filter hindert dich daran, die Sprache effizient zu lernen.He found that the inner attitude has a major influence on the acquisition of language. A negative mindset is like a filter. This filter prevents you from learning the language efficiently.

Jemand mit einer guten Einstellung braucht weniger Material als jemand mit einer negativen Einstellung, um den gleichen Fortschritt zu machen.Someone with a good attitude needs less input than someone with a negative attitude to make the same progress.

Wir alle wissen dies: Man kann Deutsch viele Jahre lernen und kaum Fortschritte machen. Oder man ist in eine deutsche Frau oder einen deutschen Mann verliebt und lernt die Sprache in ein paar Monaten. 😉We all know this: you can learn German for many years and hardly make progress. Or you are in love with a German woman or a German man and learn the language in a few months. 😉

Das ist nur ein Beispiel, aber der Punkt ist: Die innere Einstellung hat einen Effekt auf den Erwerb der Sprache.This is just one example, but the point is: The inner attitude has an effect on the acquisition of language.

Zum einen gibt dir eine gute Einstellung die Motivation, regelmäßig Zeit zu investieren und dich mit der Sprache zu beschäftigen.On the one hand, a good attitude gives you the motivation to invest regularly and to spend time studying the language.

Zum anderen bist du viel empfänglicher für die Sprache. Du bist offener für neues Material. Du bist konzentrierter, du hörst besser zu und liest deutsche Texte aufmerksamer.On the other hand, you are much more receptive to the language. You are more open to new material. You are more focused, you listen better and read German texts more attentively.

Entspanne dich also und lerne auf eine Art, die dir Spaß macht. Investiere die notwendige Zeit und höre so viel wie möglich Deutsch. Dann ist es nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis du fließend Deutsch sprichst.So relax and learn in a way that is fun for you. Invest the necessary time and listen as much German as possible. Then it is only a matter of time before you speak fluent German.
