Im Deutschen kann man beides sagen, „der frühe Vogel fängt den Wurm“ oder „Morgenstund hat Gold im Mund.“In the German language, you can say both, “the early bird catches the worm” or “The early bird gets the worm.”

Das bedeutet, dass es sich lohnt, früh aufzustehen. Es ist eine gute Idee, früh aufzustehen und zu arbeiten.This means that it is worth getting up early. It’s a good idea to get up early and work.

Gold ist etwas sehr Wertvolles. Die Stunde des Morgens, die Morgenstunde, vielleicht die erste Stunde nach Sonnenaufgang, ist eine wichtige Stunde.Gold is something very valuable. The hour of the morning, the morning hour, perhaps the first hour after sunrise, is an important hour.

Morgenstund hat wahrlich Gold im Mund.Just from a psychological standpoint, it’s a great feeling to get up before everyone else and to be productive. Half the city is still asleep, but I’m already awake, active and full of energy for the new day! The early bird truly gets the worm.

Und für die Leute, die nicht früh aufstehen, gibt es sogar ein Wort im Deutschen: Langschläfer. „Tim ist so faul, so träge! Er braucht eine halbe Stunde, ehe er endlich aufsteht und dabei ist es schon fast Mittagszeit! Er ist so ein Langschläfer. Er weiß nicht, dass Morgenstund Gold im Mund hat.“And for people who don’t get up early, there is even a word in German: late risers. “Tim is so lazy!
