Warum schaffen es so viele Leute nicht, fließend Deutsch zu sprechen?This episode is probably the most important episode that you will ever hear. Why do so many German learners fail? Ich sehe es immer wieder:I see it again and again:

• „Ich lerne seit 3 Jahren Deutsch und mein Niveau ist A2.““I’ve been learning German for 3 years and my level is A2.”
• „Ich konnte früher ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen, aber jetzt habe ich fast alles vergessen.““I could speak some German once, but now I’ve forgotten almost everything.”
• „Ich habe keine Zeit mehr, Deutsch zu lernen.““I don’t have time any more to learn German.”

Warum? Warum? Warum haben diese Menschen es nicht geschafft? Warum sprechen sie noch nicht fließend Deutsch?Why? Why? Why did these people not make it? Why are they not already speaking German fluently?

Ich meine, sie könnten schon jetzt fließend Deutsch sprechen, wenn sie nicht einen bestimmten Fehler gemacht hätten. Was ist dieser Fehler, was meinst du?I think, they could already speak German fluently, if they had not made one certain mistake. What’s this mistake, what do you think?

Vielleicht machst du genau diesen Fehler! Ich möchte nicht, dass du diesen Fehler machst und auch scheiterst!Maybe you are making exactly that mistake! I don’t want you to make this mistake and fail!

Okay ich werde es dir sagen: Sie haben nicht genug Zeit investiert. Von nichts kommt nichts, wie man so schön sagt! Du musst regelmäßig Zeit investieren, sonst wirst du niemals fließend Deutsch sprechen. Übe jeden Tag, mindestens eine halbe Stunde, am besten mehr!Okay I’ll tell you, they have not invest enough time. Nothing comes from nothing, as the saying goes! You have invest time regularly, otherwise you will never speak fluent German. Practice every day, at least for half an hour, preferably longer!

Je mehr Zeit du investieren kannst, desto besser! Wenn du ganz viel Zeit investierst, lernst du sogar effizienter und brauchst am Ende viel, viel weniger Zeit ins Deutschlernen zu investieren.The more time you invest, the better! If you invest a lot of time, you learn even more efficiently and in the end need to invest much, much less time to learn German.

Ich habe jahrelang Englisch in der Schule gelernt, aber als ich angefangen habe, selber Italienisch zu lernen – und zwar jeden Tag! – habe ich viel größere Fortschritte gemacht als in der Schule.I learned English in school for many years, but when I started to learn Italian by myself – in fact, every day! – I have made a lot more progress than at school.

Wenn du wirklich Deutsch lernen möchtest, dann übe jeden Tag.
